This book also follows another aspect of the process of Americans and Bulgarians getting to know each other in the few decades before the liberation of Bulgaria. It is obvious that Bulgarians were quite well informed about America very early. Information about this remote continent they get from the early Bulgarian textbooks where one can read surprisingly many things about the history and geography of far away America. The Bulgarian periodical editions regularly inform the Bulgarians of the events in the US, of the state organization, of cultural life, scientific discoveries and technical progress. Bulgarian journals offer information about the history and achievements of education and the political structure of this republic. This information has its effect for the formation of the views of educated Bulgarians of the National Revival and the years of the reinstatement of the Bulgarian statehood.
