Dimiter G. Tomov was born on 29 October 1957 in the town of Pavlikeny. In his native town he studied in St. Kliment Ohridski School and in Bacho Kiro High School. He graduated in Bulgarian Philology from the Faculty of Slavic Philologies and in Law from the Law Faculty of St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. For ten years he was deputy editor-in-chief of Sofia University newspaper. When the St. Kliment Ohridski University Press was founded in 1986, he was appointed its deputy director, and in December 1989 was elected director. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers. Chairman of the Bulgarian-Russian Judiciary Club. He is married, with three children.
