Zheravna is the most outstanding representative of the original Bulgarian architecture, understandable and close to the spirit of the nation. This feature creates conditions for the house of Zheravna be distinguished as a unique type of Bulgarian house, built in the 18th and 19th c. in the region of the East Stara Planina Mountain with the village of Zheravna as its center. It is close to the villages of Kotel, Medven, Katunishte, Ichera, and Gradets, where there are preserved wooden houses too.
