FOREWORD The book "Lives of the Bulgarian Saints", a first edition of the "Saint Great Martyr George Zograph", Slav-Bulgarian monastery, the Holy Mountain of Athos, 2002, is published in an abridged form in its English version by the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese in the USA, Canada and Australia, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Maxim of Bulgaria and by decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. It is dedicated to the centennial of the First Bulgarian Orthodox church in the USA, Canada and Australia, the "Holy Trinity" church in Granite City, Illinois (1907-2007), and to the 60th anniversary of the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese in the USA, Canada and Australia (1937-2007). The great Bulgarian Patriarch Saint Evthimy of Veliko Turnovo, at his parting from his flock in the year 1393, had left the Orthodox Bulgarians in the Fatherland and those beyond its boundaries to the Most Holy Trinity for ever. It is for this reason that we too, the clergy and the laity in the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese of the USA, Canada and Australia, do with a spiritual joy publish the book "Lives of the Bulgarian Saints "in the English language to the glory of the holy, consubstantial, life-giving and undivided Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
