The Thracian golden treasures exhibition at Varna Museum of Archaeology is unique because this is the first time of bringing together nine of the most renowned golden treasures found in Bulgarian lands, found either many decades ago or quite recently. They date back to various ages, millennia distant each to other, by covering the period from the Copper Age to the Roman age, and actually represent both the most ancient roots and the antique basis of modern European civilization. As Head of State of Bulgaria, I cannot repress my pride that this is just on Bulgarian territory that these astounding works of arts have been created and preserved throughout the centuries that are the most convincing evidences of the millennia-long culture on Bulgarian lands. However, these masterpieces are pride not only for Bulgaria but both Europe and the whole world have to be proud of, because they are a part of our common cultural and historical heritage. I am glad that this exhibition is organized in Varna where the forum of the Heads of State for the cultural corridors in South-East Europe was held just a year ago and this year, in the same city will be held the 13th meeting of the Heads of State of the Central European countries that happily coincides with the exhibition opening. I believe that together with the numerous Bulgarian citizens, the exhibition will attract the interest and the attention of the thousands of foreign guests and tourists in Varna who will be in position to enjoy these wonderful treasures that are excellently complemented by the natural beauties and the cultural and historical heritage of Bulgarian Black Sea coast. I would like to express my special thanks to the promoters of this wonderful exhibition, the Ministry of Culture and Regional Museum of History in Varna supported by the National Museum of History in Sofia, the Institute of Archaeology with a Museum to Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, the Museum of Archaeology in Plovdiv, the Regional Museum of History in Vratsa and the Regional Museum of History in Rousse for the exhibits provided and for their professional assistance Georgi Parvanov PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA CONTENT THRACIAN TREASURES IN VARNA FINDS FROM GRAVE No. 1 OF VARNA AENEOLITHIC NECROPOLIS THE EARLY BRONZE AGE NECROPOLIS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF DABENE, KARLOVO AREA THE VALCHITRAN GOLD TREASURE TUMULUS GRAVES OF THE NECROPOLIS NEARBY THE VILLAGES OF DUVANLII AND CHERNOZEM, PLOVDIV DISTRICT THE SILVER TREASURE FROM BOROVO A RULER'S TUMULUS GRAVE NEAR THE VILLAGES OF MALOMIROVO AND ZLATINITSA, ELHOVO AREA (YAMBOL DISTRICT) THE SILVER TREASURE FROM THE VILLAGE OF ROGOZEN, VRATSA DISTRICT THE PANAGYURISHTE GOLD TREASURE FINDS FROM KAPITAN ANDREEVO
